Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

 

Reports to: Administrator on site

 

Position Summary: The CNA provides  first aid and medications in addressing the health needs of students; assists students who require support with toileting; provides support or assistance in providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile or injured students. 

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant with up to one year of applicable experience 
  2. The ability to use a Hoyer lift to assist students with transferring.
  3. CPR certification is required.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Physical Requirements:  Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in the work environment. Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job is required.

 

  1. Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous
    interruptions.
    2. Must have physical stamina to maintain job responsibilities.
    3. Requires occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and turning.

Term of Employment: Academic school year as assigned. 

 

Evaluation:  Performance effectiveness will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of Kansas Statutes and Board of Education Policy.
