Description

Basehor-Linwood USD 458 is currently seeking Instructional Interventionists to work at Glenwood Ridge for the 2024-2025 school year. 

 

Title: Instructional Interventionist

 

Reports to: Building Principal and Director of Teaching and Learning

 

Position Summary:   The Instructional Interventionist will be responsible for providing inspiring, data driven instruction that leads students to master core academic content while maintaining a close relationship with teachers to facilitate school staff in generating, reporting and analyzing school improvement data to develop interventions and supports in math.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. Educational background and training in the arena of educational assessments and measurements. 
  2. Experience using technology to process assessment data and develop reports. 
  3. Ability to communicate effectively and to work with others to solve problems.
  4. Experience in math & instructional interventions.  
  5. Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance.
  6. Elem, Math, ESL or SPED endorsement preferred. 

Preferred:

  1. Master’s Degree in a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Ability to assist in the administration of tests. 
  2. Ability to prepare reports with appropriate scoring interpretations. 
  3. Ability to develop, maintain, and enlarge a library of all assessment resources. 
  4. Ability to assist with committee and study groups as necessary. 
  5. Ability to ensure all activities conform to District guidelines. 
  6. Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with members of the school district, parents, and community. 
  7. Ability to work to implement the vision and mission of the District. 
  8. Ability to work with technology/computer systems. 
  9. Ability to motivate staff and improve staff interventions. 
  10. Ability to model commitment and dedication to work. 
  11. Ability to work independently and without supervision, and complete work in an efficient manner. 
  12. Ability to develop and implement math interventions.
  13. Ability to effectively manage a classroom environment.

 

General Responsibilities:

  1. Ability to set yearly calendar for assessments. 
  2. Ability to organize/distribute materials and train in the administration of tests. 
  3. Ability to collect data on Kansas Assessment Programs, MAP Assessments, and other Criterion Referenced tests.
  4. Ability to prepare reports with appropriate scoring interpretations, and distribute. 
  5. Ability to educate and train staff, building level teams, and administrators about the value of assessment results and issues. 
  6. Ability to develop math interventions with small groups and help subgroup students to improve math skills and abilities in all students.
  7. Ability to visit buildings and develop training modules. 
  8. Ability to perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal and Director of Teaching and Learning or other administrative staff. 

 

Physical Requirements:  Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in the work environment. Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job is required.

 

  1. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching and turning. 
  2. Requires some travel in a personal car or District vehicle. 
  3. Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.

Term of Employment: Academic school year as assigned.
